Best Goalie, 1998 Nationals

BORN FEBRUARY 2ND, 1982 in Adelaide Australia, she developed as a goalkeeper in the South Australian leagues and eventually played for the local Blackhawks club. In 1996, still only 14, she played for the McKowen Trophy in the second Women's National and was selected to the 2nd All Star Line. The same year, she played in the First Australian Women's Hockey Team in exhibition games in Sydney against the Assabet Valley team from Massachusetts, USA.

In the third Women's National in 1997, when all states states competed for the first time, she was awarded Best Goaltender, selected a 1st Line All Star, and awarded MVP for Australia. In January 1998, she was a member of the Junior Women's Team that toured Boston USA playing high school teams.

Back in Australia, she again represented her State making the final of the 1998 Nationals for the first time. South Australia was narrowly defeated by New South Wales in overtime after the 5th penalty shot, but it was the closest a state other than New South Wales had come to winning the women's national competition since inception in 1994. Again selected First Line All Star, she was awarded Best Goalie for the second time on a save percentage of 95.29%.

At 18, she was keeper with 26 year-old Georgina Carroll in the Australian National Women's Team coached by Kathy Berg. The squad competed at the IIHF B-Pool Qualification tournament for the right to participate in the World Championships for the first time. Playing the most minutes, she faced 106 shots for a save percentage of 84%. She returned for 2001 World Championships in Maribor Slovenia with Ashleigh Sluga.

In 2008, she completed her law degree at the University of Adelaide, and followed it with a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at The College of Law (2009) and a Masters of Laws at the University of Melbourne (2012). In recent years she worked in London and in 2017 she was a corporate and legal affairs manager with GS1 in Brussels.
